St Ives Harbour Hotel Wedding | Rose & Nick

10th May, 2014
Rose & Nick decided to track us down for their "St Ives Harbour Hotel" wedding after receiving multiple recommendations. Rose being a local girl dearly wanted a Cornish beach side wedding and Nick was only too happy to go along with the plan. On arrival to the hotel I bumped into our friend Anna from "Wedding Flowers In Cornwall"  who'd just arrived to set up the floral displays. Our day started with meeting the boys in the hotel where we caught them getting into their suits before we went for some photos around the beautiful hotel.

After leaving the boys in good spirits I headed on to Rose and the girls getting ready and having their make up done by the lovely "Penny Pascoe" in their suit. Unfortunately Tamsyn was unable to do their make up due to having a conference in Vegas (Lucky her).

Rose bought her "Bellisima Weddings" dress closer to her home back in Essex and chose champagne crystal coated "Kurt Geiger" shoes to go with it. And call me sad but I got a little more than a tad excited when I saw Rose's veil in anticipation with the photographic possibilities. I then really started praying that we'd get luck with the weather and that we'd get breaks in the forecast heavy rain.

Rose was just late enough going downstairs to break a slight sweat on Nick's brow but not late enough to be rude. It was a lovely emotional ceremony, and I have to say the 2nd photo down was a first, but then he is big brother!

During the ceremony to my delight I could see the cloud lifting and so we all went outside for canapés, bubbles and group photos.

The team at the hotel and Anna did an excellent job of preparing the wedding breakfast room and Nick surprised Rose by organising a harpist to play during their wedding breakfast.

Then after big brother Pete the best man's total character assassination of Nick we took Rose and Nick into St.Ives in our Mercedes for some photos in town and on a beach. When I started I was really happy with how things were going despite the grey clouds when I noticed a very slight hint of yellow in the sky above the town. I thought I could use it and have a play in photoshop to make it look like a sunset, but I didn't need to, the sky just kept getting better and better. I was planning on taking them to Porthwidgen beach but then due to the sky decided to head for Porthmeor beach and couldn't believe my luck. So after practically dragging the poor couple down the slope so not to miss the sunset we caught what follows.

We then headed back to the hotel to start the evening revelry catching the first dance and a few games with sparklers.

Whoever you are up there looking down and out for me I'd just like to say a MASSIVE thank you! Rose and Nick truly are a wonderful couple and deserved a very special day. And the one photo they really wanted was a beach shot. I did have quiet hopes for the weather, after all The Sun Shines on the Righteous!

Rose and Nick, have an amazing life together and please do keep in touch!!!

Love K x
