Eden Project Wedding Photographer - Koemi & Carl

13th September, 2019

Khalile and Tamsyn made us and our guests feel relaxed, so we have great photos. In the run up he gave us some great advice so much more than just an on the day photographer!

When Koemi and Carl started their search for their Eden Project Wedding Photographer they thought where better to ask than the Eden Project themselves, and I have to say I'm tickled pink that they did, their wedding was such a vibrant colourful wedding full of party loving characters who were SO up for celebrating Koemi and Carl's big day.

My day started with visiting the boys who were getting ready at Boscundle Manor near St.Austell. It's been quite a few years since I've been to Boscundle, and it was so lovely being back there, the place was looking just as lovely as I remembered it, and it was nice to see a different suite from the others that I've been to in the past. The boys were getting ready in Scarlet which was quite appropriate as that was the colour for the groomsmen's ties and the bridesmaids dresses.

Carl had his best friend Will as his best man and the rest of his groomsmen were his brothers and nephew, all of them were real gents and looked the part in their Moss Brothers suits.

I didn't have too far to travel to catch up with the girls as they were getting ready in a house they were renting in Carlyon Bay just five minutes drive away.

When I arrived my wife 'Tamsyn Siddiqui' was just finishing off Koemi's Makeup while 'Lisa Gadsby' was doing the finishing touches on the girls hair. Koemi bought her dress from the local boutique to where she and Carl live called 'Bridal Shop' in Romford which went beautifully with all her jewel encrusted details.

I've shot many weddings at The Eden Project but this was my first where the couple married elsewhere and went to Eden for the reception.  Koemi and Carl wanted a Catholic ceremony and so went to St Augustine RC Church in St Austell.

Koemi and Carl requested to have the majority of the group photos at the church and also a posed shot inside the church before heading off to Eden.

We arrived before most of the other guest so we made the most of our time and got some photos in the grounds and then slipped inside the Mediterranean biome through a back door to get some inside without the assembling guests spotting us. Once inside Karen of 'Floral Creations' was waiting for us, as she made a duplicate bouquet and button hole for Carl as no flowers are allowed to be brought on site at Eden from the outside due to the chance of cross contamination with the plants there. Hence no flowers and button hole in the outside photos.

By the time all the guest had arrived we only had half an hour or so before the guests were called to sit for their wedding breakfast, so I made the most of the moment to get a couple more photos of Koemi and Carl while the guests were sitting.

The speeches were beautiful and very emotional as Carls mothers mother died around a month before the ceremony so as you can imagine there were a lot of tears from most of the wedding party.

While coffees were served we went back outside to get some photos by the blooming geraniums as we didn't want to risk getting spotted earlier by the guests as the flowers are near the entrance to the Med Biome, and didn't want to miss out on the opportunity.

Then inside the tropical biome before the last of the light went.

When we got back into the med biome Koemi and Carl's friends were waiting for the last of the group photos.

Then the evening extravaganza began, MAN Koemi and Carl's friends know how to party.  Koemi and Carl made an extensive list of music that they'd like for their DJ 'DJ in Cornwall' to play. Loads of 90's and 2000's R&B......I LOVED IT. It was like something out of a music video and when Cameo's Candy came on EVERYONE lined up and danced a routine, it was AMAZING.

Dearest Koemi and Carl, thank you SO much for choosing us to be part of your very special day. We felt honoured to share the day with you, and would like to wish the two of you a long happy and healthy life together.
