Khalile Siddiqui Profile - Cornwall Photographer

When asked by the career's advisor at school 'what do you want to be?' I replied 'a photographer'. It was at this young age that my journey into photography began and my passion for it has grown and grown ever since. Since then I have constantly been pushing myself, striving to better myself and trying to learn something new everyday.

After studying A'level photography at school I went into the printing industry working as a reprographic artist working on such titles as Instyle, Time, NME, Amateur Photographer, Horse & Hound, Country Homes & Interiors and The Guardian & Observer weekend supplements to name a few. During this time, myself and my wife Tamsyn, were living in London and it was the birth of our first daughter, Thalia, that got me wanting to leave the printing industry and focus on professional photography. She inspired us to leave our home in London and move back to Tamsyn's native and beloved Cornwall to open a photo lab and portrait studio.

In June 2007 we created 'Khalile Siddiqui Photography' and since then, the business has gone from strength to strength. Our work has been featured in 'Brides in Cornwall Magazine', 'WED Magazine' and 'South West Brides Magazine' as well as on 'The Wedding Show' on Wedding TV and in 2011 & 2012 we won 'The Designer Wedding Photographer Of The Year' at the West Country Wedding Awards. Then in 2015 we won ‘Bespoke Photographer’ at The South West Wedding Awards. It was this year we also attained our Licentiate with The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographer (LSWPP) awarding us the licence to photograph weddings and portrait illustrating that our calibre of work is operating at a certain standard.

As passionate as we are about wedding photography, as you will see from exploring our website we excel in many other areas of the photographic industry too, and offer a range of services including commercial, portraiture and location photography. Since moving to Cornwall our family has blossomed and grown with the addition of a second daughter, Sienna and our son, Quais. Being a father of three really helps with working on baby and family portraits and also underwater photography, putting people of all ages at ease very quickly.

Having a family and living in this beautiful part of the world, we’ve realised the importance of trying to reduce our impact on this fragile planet of ours, thats why we endeavour to keep our business as 'green' as possible. We have attended the Green Foundation course at The Eden Project to help train us to run our business as sustainably as possible, we print all of our fliers on FSC certified paper using only vegetable inks and we also give monthly donations to Greenpeace.
