St Michaels Hotel Wedding | Hannah & Martin

29th October, 2013
We were fortunate enough to be booked by Hannah & Martin for their "St Michaels Hotel" wedding after the hotel recommended our services. We've built up a strong rapport at the hotel after photographing the former wedding planners daughters wedding at the venue, and now it always feels like we are going back to old friends, in fact, the first ever wedding we were booked for was at St Michaels hotel so we go back quite a way.

It was back in March when I first got to meet Hannah, and I was struck instantly by her warm and empathic nature, knowing that her wedding was going to be a very loving and emotional affair.

My day started by making the journey to Hannah's mum's home where I found Hannah and all of the girls getting ready, with Holly of "The Hair Boutique" in Truro doing Hannah's hair and Clare Eggleton doing her make up. On arrival I got a few shots of the girls getting ready before heading upstairs where I found Hannah's beautiful dress that she bought from "Vu's Bridal" in Wadebridge.

We didn't have very long after Hannah got in her dress but we made sure we got a few portrait shot's before making the twenty minute drive to Kea Parish Church where Hannah's family has a lot of family history. When I arrived Martin's very cute nephews were carrying out their mini usher duties handing out the order of services.

If possible I do try and take our couples off for shots together after the wedding breakfast, but as this is the end of October it'd be dark by the time we came out, so we went to Swanpool beach to get some couple shots including the car, and then headed to Gyllyngvase beach where we met the bridal party and grooms men for some fun shots on the beach before heading to St Michaels where we met the lovely Emma waiting to greet us.

After a quick hello with Emma I went and got shots of the wedding breakfast room set up, while Tams got shots of everyone enjoying the stylish bar before they headed in to eat.

After the meal we captured the speeches which pretty much flowed into the evening, first dance, and evening revelry. I do love the last shot which not only has the lovely Hannah partying in, but also her friend and work colleague Sarah (In the red and black outfit) who Hannah recommended us to, BEFORE her wedding, and the lovely Sarah booked a couple of days ago. So welcome to the club Sarah and Alex!

Hannah and Martin thank you so much for asking us to photograph your wedding and inviting us into your very special day. As head of English at Camborne School I hope I've done you proud with my write-up as well as our photos!

I was saying to your bridesmaids Beth and Chas at the end of the day, what a truly lovely couple you both are, and what amazing parents you'll make one day should you be gifted with children.

Take care with much love Khalile & Tamsyn xx
